Rural Road Safety Month

This September marks the 8th anniversary of Rural Road Safety Month, a national campaign led by the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) that raises awareness on the risks and improving the safety on regional and rural roads.

So far this year 49% of road fatalities in Western Australia have occurred on regional roads, highlighting the importance of road safety.

With 35% of our traffic management work taking place on regional and rural roads, this campaign reflects the nature of our daily operations and highlights the importance of protecting our crews, workers, road users and pedestrians.

Keeping regional WA moving

With five depots located in Perth, Mandurah, Bunbury, Albany, and Karratha, our team services a wide area across Western Australia, including the Peel, South West, Great Southern, Wheatbelt and Pilbara regions.

From deploying rapid setups for emergency call outs to traffic management for long-term projects, including on high-risk or high-speed roads, we are committed to ensuring and maintaining the safety and compliance of all worksites.

Every cone, sign, barrier and Traffic Controller plays a role in keeping the community safe. We’re calling on all road users, especially those travelling long distances through WA’s regional areas, to take a moment to slow down, stay alert and respect roadside workers. A few seconds of awareness can make all the difference.

This Rural Road Safety Month and every day, we’re proud to play our part to improve road safety across regional Western Australia.
